Frequently asked questions

Whether it's your first visit or you're bringing a group for the first time, here are the answers to our most common questions.

The venue

When are you open?

We are open daily from 7:00pm until 1:00am. Tours of the venue are available Sunday to Thursday (excluding Monday) from 7:45pm.

Where are you located?

2 Silver Street, Coventry CV1 1AR — just a short walk from Coventry Transport Museum. Bishop Street car park is right next to us.

Is there parking nearby?

Yes — Bishop Street multi-storey car park is directly adjacent to the venue.

Can I visit before booking?

Absolutely. Tours are available Sunday to Thursday (excluding Monday) from 7:45pm. We do not offer tours on Fridays and Saturdays as all rooms are typically occupied.

Bookings and pricing

How much does it cost to hire a room?

Party rooms are priced at £10 per person when booked in advance, or £15 per person on the door. The Main Room starts from £125 per hour. All sessions include up to 4 hours of exclusive room hire.

How long do we get in the room?

All bookings include up to 4 hours from your stated arrival time. If you would like to extend, extensions may be available at the bar on the night.

What does the room hire fee include?

Room hire includes exclusive use of your private room and all standard in-room amenities — karaoke system, smart lighting, sound system, console and streaming connectivity, and room service access. Food and beverages are charged separately.

Do I need to pay in full upfront?

Yes — full payment is required for all party room bookings. Main Room bookings require a 50% deposit upfront, with the balance due at least one month before your event.

Can I arrive later than 7pm?

Yes — you may arrive any time after 7pm. Please let staff know your approximate arrival time when booking.

Cancellations and changes

What is your cancellation policy?

Party Room bookings cancelled at least 3 months before the event are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations within 3 months of the event date forfeit the booking fee. Main Room cancellations must be made at least 6 months in advance for a full refund.

What if my group size changes?

If your group shrinks, the full booking fee still applies — we cannot reduce the booking value once confirmed. If your group grows beyond your room's capacity, you'll need to upgrade to a larger room.

Guests and ID

Do I need to register or show ID?

Yes — Players Party Rooms is a licensed venue and all guests must register upon entry. Valid photo ID is required for all guests aged 18 and over. Fingerprint registration is available so that returning guests can enter without ID on future visits.

Are children allowed?

Children are welcome in private party rooms at any time. However, for evening sessions at least 50% of the group must be adults aged 25 or over. No alcohol will be served to anyone under 18. Dedicated daytime kids' packages are also available.

Is there a dress code?

There is no strict dress code, but all guests are expected to dress respectfully. We reserve the right to refuse entry at our discretion.

Can guests re-enter after leaving?

No — re-entry is not permitted once guests have exited the venue.

Food and drink

Do you serve food and drinks?

Yes — we offer a full food and drinks menu with regularly updated options. Food is served as sharing platters and nibbles and arrives as ready, rather than all at once like a restaurant.

Can I bring my own food?

Outside food is permitted. However, outside beverages are not allowed — any drinks brought to the venue will be held safely at the bar and returned to you at the end of the night.

Can I take unfinished bottles home?

Unfortunately not — alcohol cannot leave the premises under our licensing regulations. Uncollected spirits and liqueurs are stored for up to 1 month; sealed wines, beers, and champagnes for up to 15 days.

Do you cater for dietary requirements and allergies?

Our kitchen uses a variety of ingredients including dairy, eggs, wheat, soy, tree nuts, peanuts, fish, and shellfish. Cross-contact can occur, and our kitchen areas are not dedicated allergen-free spaces. Please inform a member of staff of any dietary requirements before ordering.

In-room experience

Which rooms have karaoke?

All party rooms are equipped with karaoke facilities — it's included as standard in every room.

Can I connect my own device or DJ equipment?

All rooms have pre-connected cables and plugs for streaming from your own device (Spotify, Netflix, YouTube, gaming consoles, etc.). DJ equipment is welcome in the E Lounge, VIP Club, and S2 rooms only — DJs must provide their own equipment.

Can I bring decorations?

Yes — you can bring decorations but only venue-approved adhesive is permitted to prevent wall damage. Please do not use tape, pins, or other adhesives on the walls.

Can I come early to decorate?

Unfortunately rooms are being prepared until 7pm, so early access for decorating is not available. We suggest having your guests arrive slightly later so you can decorate first after the room is handed over.

Corporate events

Do you cater for corporate events?

Absolutely. We have rooms for groups of up to 400 people, with laptop and device connectivity for presentations. Please get in touch via our contact page to discuss your requirements.

Lost property

I left something at the venue. How do I report it?

Please contact us as soon as possible to report any lost items. We hold lost property for up to 14 days before it is disposed of.
